On Friday October 28, 143 students and educators visited NASA Kennedy Space Center and witnessed how science and ingenuity advanced the knowledge of space exploration.
They explored the Rocket Garden, toured around the Vehicle Assembly Building (site of Artemis I) and were mesmerized by the imposing Saturn V rocket and the beauty of the Apollo 14 command module, among other space artifacts.
Astronaut Robert Thirsk delighted the audience with his explanations about daily life in the International Space Station. The day concluded with a visit to the Atlantis Space Shuttle and the new Gateway Deep Space Launch, where students had fun riding on simulators that represented the future of space travel.
