Performing Arts

The Palmer Trinity Theatre Department offers students a rigorous theatre experience in a caring and supportive environment.
Palmer Trinity Theatre offers students a rigorous and professional theatre experience in a caring and supportive environment where students feel safe to explore and take risks. A variety of courses are offered to allow students to study acting, musical theatre, playwriting, directing, design, and technical theatre. The emphasis is on individual growth, process-oriented work, and the ensemble approach to theatre. Collaborative ensemble work is frequently showcased. Students sharpen their craft through acting technique, movement, and voice classes on increasingly challenging levels. Play selections from Modern American to Classical give students the knowledge to appreciate a diverse repertoire of theatre and to understand the history of theatre arts. Students have the opportunity to participate in theatrical field trips to local and New York Theatres. Visiting master artists will educate our theatre students on state-of-the-art techniques and innovative theatrical concepts. Affiliated with the International Thespian Society, our Upper School Palmer Trinity Troupe 5458 and Junior Troupe 88939 present three full-length productions a year. School-wide auditions are held for each show and performances are held on campus and at local theaters.

Avenue Q - School Edition

Press Release - PTS Theatre Department

This October the Palmer Trinity School Theatre Department will present the hilarious musical comedy, Avenue Q - School Edition which has been updated for younger audiences. The show invites you into a world where humans and puppets live side-by-side trying to “find their purpose” in a rough neighborhood of NYC.  The popular show that had New York City audiences in stitches for over 15 years boasts Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Original Book. Using satire, witty songs and puppets, the show is able to tackle themes that other shows avoid.  The School Edition has been reinvented and cleaned up, but the comedy is still bursting at the seams.

The three performances will take place Thursday - Saturday, October 20 - 23 at Pinecrest Gardens, 11000 Red Road in Pinecrest.  All performances are at 7:00 p.m.  Tickets are $18 for adults and $10 for any student with a valid student ID.  Come experience why this is deemed one of the best musical comedies ever written.  The show is rated PG 13 and not suitable for 6 and 7 grade students.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or by visiting  Come experience why this is deemed one of the best musical comedies ever written.
