Palmer Trinity Inspires Girls to Explore STEM Careers
PTS Alumna, Victoria Garcia, shares her journey toward NASA began with Math and Science at PTS. As a NASA engineer Victoria Garcia encourages all girls to try STEM classes.
“Think about the different ways that problem solving and critical thinking skills can be incorporated into your desired careers,” she said.
“STEM-related fields may not be up your alley, and that is perfectly fine,” she said, “but don’t let other people make you feel like you are not good enough for it.”
Palmer Trinity SWENext Club was featured in the national SWENext blog, All Together, of the Society of Women Engineers.
"Even though Palmer Trinity SWENext is a new club, they’ve already successfully hosted events! On October 20th of this past year, they hosted a virtual 'Girl Powered' event in celebration of International Day of the Girl. The main purpose of this event was to show middle and high school students the exciting aspects of STEM and robotics. During the event, Palmer Trinity SWENext successfully showcased examples of women in STEM, provided tips & tools for a successful career, and created a welcoming environment during the event that accommodated different skill levels. In addition to hosting this event, Palmer Trinity SWENext also holds regular webinars with engineering guest speakers."
