Backpack Drive for Ukraine

Over the past few weeks, Palmer Trinity has worked to aid Ukrainian refugee children who are entering Poland. A backpack and supply drive was created to get the most needed items to the children: clothes, shoes, school supplies, and small comfort items (toys, games, stuffed animals, etc.) Thanks to the generosity of the school community, we collected over 250 backpacks filled with supplies. These backpacks were inspected, sorted, organized, and packed by many Palmer students and parent volunteers. A Palmer Trinity family with relatives in Poland who are connected to Polish schools (where many of the refugees are housed) will assist in the distribution. Through these connections, we were able to get a true sense of the overwhelming needs of the refugee children. To date we have filled over 30 large shipping boxes with the supplies. They will be blessed before they are shipped this upcoming week.
