Palmer Trinity School works with the Shark Research & Conservation Program (SRC) at the University of Miami to foster scientific literacy and environmental ethic in youth. During the shark tagging field experience, groups of students go onto the water for a day of shark research in waters around South Florida. Students work side-by-side with scientists to collect data through measurements, tissue samples, and tagging. These data are used for ongoing scientific projects at the University of Miami. By studying apex predators, students can better understand and protect our marine ecosystems.
