Palmer Trinity School Celebrates Groundbreaking of New Aquatic Center

Village of Palmetto Bay Mayor Presents Proclamation for Milestone Event

MIAMI — June 2, 2026 — Palmer Trinity School (PTS) celebrated the official groundbreaking of its new Aquatic Center on Friday, May 22, 2026, marking a major step forward in the School’s commitment to student wellness, athletic excellence and community engagement. The ceremony, held during the School’s Flex period, brought together students, faculty, staff, families, and community leaders for a meaningful moment in the School’s history.

Village of Palmetto Bay Mayor Karyn Cunningham attended the ceremony and presented Palmer Trinity School with an official proclamation recognizing the significance of the new Aquatic Center and honoring the School’s dedication to holistic education and community partnership. Members of the Palmer Trinity School Board of Trustees were also present, underscoring the importance of this milestone in advancing the School’s long‑term vision.

Set for completion in 2027, the Aquatic Center will feature a 50‑meter x 25‑yard competition pool with a movable bulkhead, a cutting‑edge timing and scoring system, grandstand seating for more than 300 spectators, and a 3,100‑square‑foot support building with locker rooms, restrooms, storage, and offices. The facility will support swim instruction, water polo, physical education, aquatic therapy, summer offerings, and community activities.

“This Aquatic Center represents far more than a new facility,” said Patrick Robers, Head of School. “It reflects our commitment to nurturing the physical, mental and emotional well‑being of our students while strengthening our connection to the broader South Florida community.”

The Aquatic Center will enable PTS to host elite‑level training and university‑caliber meets, expand its physical education curriculum, and provide students with access to swimming, a critical life skill in South Florida. The facility will also serve as a community hub, offering opportunities for wellness, recreation and engagement beyond the School’s campus.
