The Environmental Education Symposium, hosted by the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at Palmer Trinity School, is designed to bring like-minded educators together to engage in ways that incorporate critical environmental issues into our classrooms.
At the heart of the Environmental Education Symposium is the belief that by gathering a diverse group of educators from public and private schools around South Florida, each participant will often be exposed to educational initiatives beyond their own school’s efforts. Our goal is to advance environmental literacy and stewardship across the disciplines through collaboration.
The 2020 Environmental Education Symposium will engage participants in the topics of responsible use and protection of the natural environment at local, national, and international levels. The symposium will host leaders from the CLEO Institute, the Everglades Foundation, and Miami Waterkeeper who will facilitate discussions of climate science, the Everglades ecosystem, and water conservation. The sessions will empower participants to incorporate environmental lessons into the curriculum.
