The Varsity Track and Field team competed hard at the Belen Quad and came away with great results. For the girls, Autumn-Jade Stoner won the pole vault while recording a new school record at 9'8". Other first place finishers included Sofia Iglesias in discus, Savannah Milton in high jump and long jump, Ainara Vadillo in the 100m and 200m and Carmen Gonzalez Del Valle in the 400m. The boys excelled as well, placing third overall. Tyler Farias and Nicolas Rey led the team, each setting personal bests in the 800m. Eighth grader Jacob Lebowitz led the Falcons in the high jump. Congratulations to all!
Two groups of seniors were honored yesterday for their commitment and dedication to Palmer Trinity and their respective teams. First up was the Track and Field team. The seniors honored were Daniela Diaz, Ariana Gomez, Juliette Hamilton, Ethan Hill, Sofia Iglesias, Dante Lang, Savannah Milton, Ashley Quero, Beverly Rhodes, Mario Rodriguez, and Alexa Ruiz. Girls Lacrosse then followed suit prior to their game. Salma Atassi, Georgia Burlingame, Alexandra Esco, Fabiana Lacau, and Valentina Lopez were celebrated. Thank you to all coaches and parents for attending!
The 2017 Track and Field season is underway and the Falcons have started strong. The Varsity Falcons recently competed in the Sam Burley Invitational and did not disappoint. In the girls 4x800, Julia Irvin, Carmen Del Valle Gonzalez, Georgia Malueg, and Ariana Gomez recorded a season best time of 10:40.38 which placed them first in the district. Sofia Iglesias's discus throw of 117-11 placed her third overall and ranked her top three in the state! For the boys, the 4x800 team of Mathew Scullin, Reilly May, Christopher Hudson, and Mario Rodriguez ranked first in the district with a time of 9:30. Owen Reynolds is now ranked top three in the district in both discus and shot put after setting personal bests.
Yesterday marked the beginning of the spring season for the Boys and Girls Track and Field Teams. They participated in the Ransom Everglades Pre Season Opener at Coral Gables High School. Both the Boys and Girls teams came out with solid performances, capped off by Freshman Autumn-Jade Stoner's first place finish in vault, and Sophomore Reilly May's two career bests in the Mile and the 800m.
