As you know, the Palmer Trinity School Athletic Department celebrated its annual Junior Varsity and Varsity Athletic Awards Banquet on April 24th, 2017. The event was filled with great food, reflection videos, original speeches, and the awarding of honors for academics, sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork. Families of award-winners came out to support their accomplishments, and the evening culminated with the presenting of the Senior Awards, Female Athlete of the Year, and Male Athlete of the Year.
It has been an exciting and eventful year for PTS Athletics. We welcome the departments' newest full-time members, Tina Bustamante Rodriguez, as Administrative Assistant, Mr. Eric Perri, as Strength and Conditioning Coordinator and Mr. Daryl Maple, as Athletics and School Transportation. In addition, we added outstanding head coaches, assistant coaches and team managers.
The Athletic Programs continued to flourish this year. Next year we expect to open the South Campus Sports Arena with it's first home football game. The Arena will also host cross country, soccer, track & field, and lacrosse. The Athletic Department will continue to bring outstanding athletes and teams to our campus.
Student interest in athletics is at an all-time high, both in the Middle School and Upper School. It has never been stronger, and we thank you for supporting a growing community of amazing athletes and leaders on our campus. As Director of Athletics, I thank you for your comments and questions throughout the year. The athletes, coaches, and parents have made me a better leader and manager. I look forward to an energizing summer and an amazing 2017-2018 school year.
