The trees of Palmer Trinity — which number well over 1000 — are comprised of 35 plant families, 66 genera, and 76 species. Mr. Roberts, Dr. Llinas, and students in the Eco Club tagged one tree from each species with a plaque. Each plaque included the common name and the scientific name of the tree species.
For the second year in a row, the Falcons advance to the FHSAA Class 1A State Final Four! Their victory today against Miami Country Day, with a score of 1-0, advances them to another opportunity to State competition. The Falcons will travel to play the State Semifinal game on Saturday, February 17th, at a time and location to be announced.Congratulations team!
This past Saturday, February 3rd, the Math clubs traveled to Palmetto Ridge High School in Naples for a FAMAT competition.
Three of our Middle School Mathletes earned Palmer Trinity's first ever FAMAT mathematics competition trophy. They placed 5th in the Algebra 1 division. The team members were Ismael Alvarez, Eduardo del Rosal, and Elena Morin.
Starting today, Friday, February 2nd, until Sunday, six students from the PTS Upper School Model United Nations Team will be traveling to Washington, D.C. to participate in the American University Model UN Conference (AmeriMUNC V).
On January 19th, the 9th-grade class traveled to Kennedy Space Center as part of the World History curricular experience. They were introduced to Mr. Marcos C. Pontes, Lieutenant Colonel from the Brazilian Air Force and member of the Brazilian Space Agency. Our students also participated in the program "Salute to Science" and designed and tested a Mars rover prototype.
Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Soccer team for their 4-1 victory over Somerset Silver Palms for the 1A District 16 Title. Catherine Trouillot led the Falcons with two goals, Daniela Gomez and Carmen Gonzalez each scored one. With the win, the Falcons also advance to the Regional Tournament. The girls will host the Regional Quarterfinals on Tuesday, February 6th at 3:30 pm.
Alums Andrea Ortiz '12 and Sebastian Nicholls '12 presented to our Round Square guests on Saturday, January 20th. They spoke about millennials in the global world and how important international travel is in order to provide different perspectives.
