  • PTS Student-Artists' Art Up For Auction For Charity

    PTS Junior Marie Alencar and freshman Juliana Cueva had drawings accepted into a juried show as part of a local Rotary club fundraising event. Their pieces will be displayed during the pre-show gala at the Black Jacket Symphony Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band Concert on Saturday, April 28th, at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Art Center. They will be with their work throughout the display time, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., and then have generously agreed to have their work auctioned off for benefit of the Rotary Club of Perrine Cutler Ridge/Palmetto Bay charities program.

  • Growing Beyond Earth Challenge

    PTS students Pilar Calvoz Cordon, Juliana Cueva, Grant Kleber, Dylan Johnson, and Morgan Powell came in 5th place for the designing and defending their Scientific Poster for the Fairchild Growing Beyond Earth Challenge on Saturday, April 21st.

    They defended their original research in front of NASA, Fairchild, and FIU scientists. They had the only poster with a statistical analysis allowing them to accept or reject their hypothesis.

    Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team for winning the 2018 District Tournament by defeating Coral Shores 9-3. The girls will look to continue their incredible run in the upcoming Regional Semifinals on Thursday, April 26th.

    On Wednesday, April 18th, the PTS campus was full of animals from all walks of life for the Blessing of the Animals Chapels held in the courtyard. Members of the PTS community brought in their animal friends, from furry to scaley, to be blessed.

  • The Power of Words

    The 9th-grade class took time on Wednesday to participate in a mini-workshop "The Power of Words." Five Junior and Senior peer counselors spoke to the freshmen to help raise awareness of the impact of words. Students then broke into small groups to discuss the topic. The event concluded with a Lego assembly competition to promote teamwork.

    National Federation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) contest was held Wednesday, April 11th, and the PTS entry from Attie Crews, Olivia Bacardi, and Megan Keller (with some assistance from Dr. Salomon and Mrs. Cetta) came in Second Place. Their concept was for ONE CHANGE BRACELETS to aid Melanoma research.

  • PTS Women Studies Participate In PeaceJam

    During the weekend of April 7th and 8th, students in Women Studies, along with 450 students from the southeastern region of the U.S., participated in leadership and advocacy workshops, family groups, service projects, and a march for human rights. Two students from Parkland and a survivor of the Pulse Nightclub shooting delivered moving speeches and motivated young people to be the voice of change in our society.

    On Wednesday, March 21st, the 7th-grade students presented their Genius projects. Students were asked to research a topic that they are passionate about and teach it to their classmates, find ways to enhance it or use it to find solutions to global and local issues.
