Senior Spotlight: Aden Davenport

Aden Davenport has been around the game of football for a long time. Growing up in a family of avid football fans who believe in the youth growing through the game of football, football was always in the cards for Davenport. Through his 12 years of playing quarterback, Davenport has put in the time and hard work necessary to not only grow, but excel at the position.

However, Davenport notes his freshman year as a turning point. Davenport quickly credits the mentorship of Head Coach Mark Reese as what forced him to grow not only as a player, but as a person. Reese describes Davenport simply as “a hard worker who just loves the game of football”. A discussion that freshman year about what it takes to be a quarterback off the field is what served as the eye opener for Davenport. Since then, Davenport has taken every opportunity to lead by example. He tries to be a role model for younger student-athletes and takes pride in being the first one in, last one out type of player.

Looking back over the past three years, despite ups and downs and a shoulder injury last year, Davenport is thankful for all the memories he has created, most notably beating Westminster Christian in overtime last year and his first start against St. Brendan as a freshman. However, he understands there is more work to be done and can’t wait to get going for his senior year.

Outside of Palmer Trinity, Davenport still calls the football field home. He has long competed for a 7-on-7 team called Hard Knocks where he is able to travel across the country competing. For the past two years, Aden has given back to the football community by serving as a volunteer coach of the Kendall Hammocks Warriors youth football program.

On the rare instances Davenport isn’t involved a football practice or workout, he enjoys spending time with his friends. His favorite movie is Cars, notes that the steak he makes himself is his favorite food, and you are likely to hear J. Cole on his pregame playlist. A fun fact about Davenport is that he can speak Hebrew. As a senior, Davenport, who plans to pursue a career in finance, is excited about applying to colleges where he lists Butler University and Stetson University as two of his favorites.

Be sure to come out and support Aden and the rest of the Palmer Trinity Football team! The season opened up with a road win at Bridgeprep Academy. The Falcons will have their home opener on Friday, September 9th vs. Archbishop Coleman Carroll at 4:00pm.
