Inaugural LAUNCH Program for the Class of 2026

The transition from middle school to upper school is a process. To assist students in that process, we have developed a program involving teachers, advisors, students, and administrators.

PTS is proud to announce our inaugural Launch program for the Class of 2026.  A variety of sessions designed to provide freshmen with the tools and skills that will assist  them:
  • Bridge the gap between Middle and Upper School;
  • Understand and optimize the scope of the Academic Program;
  • Develop agency in academic enrichment opportunities;
  • Self-advocate and seek academic support; and
  • Assume ownership of learning.

Several school leaders, including the Advisory Coordinator, College Counselors, School Counselors, Academic Dean, and Student Activities Director have created this two-day program in order to orient our new freshmen to How We Do School at PTS.

Sessions will focus on Scholar Mindsets, Scholar Skills, and Scholar Care. To achieve these goals, freshmen will travel through a number of sessions on Thursday, August 18th, and the morning of August 19th.

We encourage you to talk with your children about these activities.  Questions that might stimulate conversation include:
  1. What did the student speakers say that made sense to you?
  2. Who / What on campus do you think will be a helpful resource for you this year?
  3. What is available to you at PTS that you didn't realize was available before?
