Palmer Trinity and Gulliver Team Up for "Stallcatchers"

On Wednesday and Thursday this week, sixth graders in Life Science participated in a global crowdsourcing game called Stallcatchers that aides in Alzheimer's research.

Research from Cornell University has discovered that clogged blood vessels known as "stalls" reduce blood flow and are related to Alzheimer's symptoms.

By using the public to analyze brain scans, researchers can crowdsource data to improve accuracy, reduce the amount of time it takes to discover treatment from decades to years, and identify more effective drugs.

Palmer Trinity partnered with Gulliver Prep to form "Team Miami" to compete against teams around the world to see who could efficiently analyze the most data. Team Miami managed to finish in the top 10 in the whole competition!
