MIAMUN IV Conference

By Carolina Lopez ‘22
Model United Nations, or MUN for short, is an educational simulation in which students can assume a role as a member state of the United Nations and learn about the ins-and-outs of diplomacy and foreign relations.

On Saturday, March 20, 2021 Palmer Trinity will be hosting its very own MUN conference for the fourth year in a row. This conference, lovingly coined MIAMUN, first took place in the PTS library on a weekend in the spring of 2018. When MIAMUN was first established, it was comprised of only two committees, but now we have the pleasure of having five committees, all with enthralling topics ranging from the Berlin Airlift in 1948 to the issue of preserving and protecting coral reefs.

Ninety students will participate in the MIAMUN IV Conference on Saturday. We are very lucky to be able to host this event in-person and we are strictly enforcing all COVID-19 guidelines as well as the Falcon Pledge. The committees have been downsized to ensure 6 feet of social distancing between delegates and the conference has been limited to only PTS students.

We are very excited to be hosting MIAMUN IV and we cannot wait for the fruitful debate this conference will foster. Go PTS Diplomats!
