Wooten's Pick-Six Powers Varsity Football to Victory

In a conference showdown featuring big defensive plays, strong winds, and heavy rain, the Palmer Trinity Falcons were able to come away with a narrow 7-6 victory over the Florida Christian Patriots. After entering the third quarter with the game still scoreless, Florida Christian found the end-zone to take a 6-0 lead. However, on the next drive, Santana Wooten '23 returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown. Sophomore Marcos Leon's ensuing extra point gave the Falcons a 7-6 lead that they would not relinquish. Wooten led the Falcons with 77 rushing yards, 10 tackles, two tackles for a loss, a forced fumble, and the pick-six. Kyndal Royal '21 added two interceptions while Matthew Ehrenreich '23 and Caleb Young '21 each had strong defensive games with seven tackles and five tackles respectively.
