Just over four years ago, after much discussion, good collaboration and a unified approach, our School rolled out Strategic Plan 2020. And, thanks to the dedicated efforts of all, we are "wrapping up" that Plan, one year early. In my presentations over the last several weeks, we have celebrated many of the Highlights of that Plan, and we truly should feel proud of our good work. As I have mentioned a few times, we are already in the early stages of a new Strategic Plan, and our hope is to have that Plan ready by the Fall of 2020.

As many of you may also recall, we created two documents to help lead the way for this Plan back in April 2015---the Statement of Commitment, and the Portrait of a Graduate. And, just as I share both of these guiding works each August,  I share the Community and Faculty Staff portion of the Statement of Commitment again with you today, as a simple reminder of our "contract" with one another, and our greater School Community. While it is a fairly simple statement, I am sincerely proud of what it represents, for I believe it "separates" us in our daily work from many of our peers at other institutions. Many of my fellow independent school colleagues have requested a copy of our Statement of Commitment, and I always share it with them proudly, knowing the intentionality and dedicated effort it has required to both create and to implement in our daily culture as a School Community.

In essence, our Mission can be "tangibly" seen at work through this Statement of Commitment. Whether it be arriving at a called meeting on time, communicating appropriately and in a timely manner with a Parent, or a colleague, following our Professional Dress Code, or simply being in our classroom on time, our attention to the details truly makes a difference. Our success as a Professional Community is rooted in the "heart" of this Commitment, and we are called not only to provide a great teaching experience for our students, but to be great Professional colleagues as well.

In our efforts to promote this Statement of Commitment, we have posted it alongside our Mission/Philosophy and Guiding Principles, hanging it proudly in every classroom, office and appropriate public space. We have included it in our All School Handbook and Directory, Employee Handbook, and Strategic Plan 2020. In my discussions with students, parents, Board members, Community members, and others, I often refer to it, for I am genuinely proud of what it represents. This Statement is so important, I believe, that I share it each August with every Faculty and Staff member, our Students, and our Parents, as we return from the long Summer Break, and begin the new academic year. For me, this Statement "sets a tone", and lets each of us know how critical our partnership is, as we manage expectations, communicate clearly with one another, and understand what our expectations are for one another.

And so, as the new year begins to "settle" a bit, and we go forward into the daily "grind", I humbly remind us all to take a moment, review the Statement of Commitment, and recognize the simple, yet powerful message it conveys. We are off to a great start, and I sincerely appreciate all the good efforts being made to ensure that this 2019-20 academic year will be the best in Palmer Trinity history! Thank you.

All the very best for a wonderful week, and, as always, thank you for your Passion, your Professionalism, and your Positive Attitude.

Onward and upward...
