Learning about Miami's Urban Planning

Students in AP Human Geography participated in a fieldwork trip to Miami Central Business District to bridge theory with praxis, enhancing the study of our last unit on urbanization and the structure of cities. Students visited Virgin Miami Central Station (aka Brightline Station), then attended a panel discussion with professionals involved in the development and urban planning ecosystem on the 43rd floor of JLL office, and finalized the day interviewing Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber, who explained the city initiatives to face the prospects of sea level rise.
