2019 Senior Signing Day

Congratulations to the eleven members of the 2019 Senior Class who have signed on to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. We will miss you dearly at Palmer Trinity, but look forward to seeing what is in store for you in your next chapter. Best of luck to the following Falcons:

Nicholas Casares – Football – The Catholic University of America: Casares leaves Palmer Trinity as the record holder for passing yards in a single season with 1,726. Casares, a two-year starter at the Quarterback position and a four-year letterman, was named to the All-Dade Second Team in 2018 and listed as an Honorable Mention in 2017. In addition, he received South Florida Independent Football Conference (FIFC) Second Team Honors in 2018 and crowned Championship Game MVP in 2017. Casares also lettered for two years in basketball and one for track & field.

Grant Foreman – Baseball – The College of Wooster: Foreman’s strong senior campaign earned him South Florida Baseball Conference Player of the Year honors, as well as a selection to the All-Conference First Team for the second consecutive season, in addition to his Second Team selection in 2017. Foreman was also selected as an All-Dade Honorable Mention in 2018. He excels at multiple positions including as a pitcher, first baseman, and third baseman while also getting it done at the plate. Foreman was a four-year letterman in baseball and one in golf.

Alberto Franceschi – Soccer – Wheaton College: Franceschi led Palmer Trinity to back-to-back State Championships as its top scorer, notching 36 goals and 29 assists as a senior. Franceschi was named All-Dade First team in 2017, 2018, and 2019 while also receiving back-to-back Florida Dairy Farmers Class 1A Player of the Year awards in 2018 and 2019.

Zachary Friedland – Basketball – St. Lawrence University: An All-Dade Honorable Mention in 2018 and 2019, Friedland’s tenacious defense and playmaking set him up to succeed as a four-year starter at the Point Guard position. Friedland holds the Palmer Trinity record for assists in a game with 12.

Jacob Gassenheimer – Football – Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI): Gassenheimer received numerous honors at the Defensive Lineman and Linebacker positions. In 2017, Gassenheimer was named FIFC First Team and an All-Dade Honorable Mention. In 2018, he was selected to the FIFC third team and was once again an All-Dade Honorable Mention. Gassenheimer was also selected to the All-Dade Second Team for Lacrosse in 2018. Gassenheimer leaves Palmer Trinity as a four-year letterman in lacrosse, three in football, and two in winter cheerleading.

Michael Gomez – Soccer – Pine Manor College: Gomez was a sparkplug on the Boys Soccer team whom always found success, with none coming bigger than his game-winning overtime goal in the 2019 State Championship game. Gomez, who also participated in four years of tennis and one year of golf to go along with two years of soccer, was named MaxPreps’s Palmer Trinity Player of the Year.

Brooke Kleber – Lacrosse – Mount Holyoke College: Kleber has been an instrumental player on the rising Girls Lacrosse team that won the District in 2018 and finished as District Runner-Up in 2019. Kleber played four years of lacrosse while also a member of the fall and winter cheerleading teams for two years.
 
John Malloy – Football – Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): Malloy, a four-year letterman in football at Tight End, was named as an All-Dade First Team Selection in 2018, All-Dade Second Team in 2017, an All-Dade Honorable Mention in 2016. In addition, Malloy was selected to the FIFC Second Team in 2018 and named the 2017 FIFC Scholar Athlete. Malloy also lettered for three years in track & field.

Santiago Messmacher – Football – University of Richmond: Messmacher is an all-around gifted athlete who lettered in four years of football, three years of lacrosse, a year of baseball, and a year of winter cheerleading. Playing the Center position, Messmacher was named to the All-Dade Second Team and FIFC First team in 2018 after being named an All-Dade Honorable Mention in 2017. Messmacher was also selected to the 2017 U.S. Under 17 National Football team and competed in the 8th Annual International Bowl in Arlington, Texas.

Sergio Sannia – Soccer – Lynn University: Sannia was an integral part of the 2017 Boys Soccer team that reached the State Semifinals and then played a crucial role in helping to bring home Palmer Trinity’s first ever state championship in 2018 as a midfielder.

Pedro Torres – Baseball – Ursinus College: Torres came to Palmer Trinity as a junior and excelled in his two years in a Falcons jersey. The versatile senior plays Center Field and Pitcher and is a leader in the dugout. He was named to the South Florida Baseball Conference Second Team in 2018 and 2019.

These eleven Falcons join Kristian Fortis who previously signed to La Salle University for golf. Fortis was twice named to the All-Dade Second team and twice to the All-Dade Third team.
