Palmer Trinity School is pleased to announce the addition of after-school enrichment programs for middle and high school students. We are excited to have partnered with several community organizations in order to provide these programs for our students. Class size is limited, so register soon. Class are subject to cancellation based on enrollment.

  • Chess with Robert Ramirez (Session 2) – 5 weeks - $125.00

    -        Start Date - October 30th

    Mr. Robert Ramirez will be running our chess program this fall; he is a professional chess player with over 8 years of teaching experience. Mr. Ramirez earned his National Master title from the United States Chess Federation with a rating above 2250. As a professional, he has participated in several prestigious tournaments, such as the World Open Chess Tournament and the Pan American Intercollegiate Team Championships. The program will run for 5 weeks and is great for players of all levels.   • Dance Club – 10 Weeks (2 times per week) – $600.00

    - Start Date – September 25th
    - End Date – December 7th
    Mondays and Thursdays (3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

    This is a Performing Arts Club designed to expose students to a variety of dance forms, teach proper skills and instill an appreciation for performance and choreography aesthetics. The objective of the 10-week session is to introduce, discuss, demonstrate and review general dance vocabulary and movements for Classical Ballet, Modern/Contemporary & Technique (Tricks, Conditioning, Flexibility), Theatrical Jazz/Tap, and Choreography & Hip Hop. Students will practice and perform curriculum from all genres and will learn correct body alignment, strength, flexibility, coordination and technique.
    *If students demonstrate determination and initiative, they will be invited to perform in the Fall 2017 Dance Recital.
     
    The Dance Club will meet on Monday & Thursday afternoons from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. The 10-Week Session will include 4 dance hours per week for a total of 40 hours. The session begins on September 25th and concludes on December 7th, 2017.

    The Dance Club dates are as follows: September 25th and 28th, October 2nd, 5th, 9th, 16th, 19th, 23rd, 26th and 30th, November 2nd, 6th, 9th, 13th, 16th, 27th and 30th, December 1st (Friday Recital), 4th and 7th. (No classes - October 12th - half day, November 20th & 23rd - Thanksgiving Break.)
     
    The schedule is as follows and is subject to change based on required rehearsals:

    Dance Club Cost and Attire:
    Dancers are expected to be prepared for Dance Club and are required to dress in the appropriate dance attire, which includes appropriate hair. The Dance Club cost is $600 for the 10-Week Session and there is an attire charge of $45.00 for the purchase of the students PTS Leotard. Checks for the leotard should be made payable to Palmer Trinity School. This is a one-time fee.
     
    Palmer Trinity School Leotard - Solid black sports bras are permitted underneath the leotard.
    Solid Black Leggings - Long/ankle length leggings are appropriate. No capris or shorts. (PTS leggings are permitted and are $20 in the supply store.)
    Hair - Neatly pulled away from the face in a secure ponytail. No hair clips.
    Shoes - Pink Ballet shoes, Black Tap shoes and Sneakers.
    Jewelry - No loose or dangling jewelry. No bead jewelry 

  • Deering Estate Water Sports - 10 Weeks - $250.00 - CLOSED

    -        Start Date: Thursday, September 14th
    -        End Date: Thursday, November 16th
    -        Time: 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
     
    With Charles Deering’s rich naval record and history of boating in Miami Dade County, and the Estate’s proximity to shallow bay waters, the Deering Estate at Cutler is an ideal location to learn basic water safety and introduce youth to canoeing and kayaking while enhancing youth awareness of our community’s bay and coastal resources. Share nature-based recreational sports with friends and rediscover the outdoors while gaining experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Arts (STEAM) careers.

    The Water Sports program is overseen by Rangel Diaz, who has been an employee of Miami-Dade County Parks since 2006 and is the Assistant Learning Programs Manager at Deering Estate.  Before becoming part of the Deering Estate staff he made the transition from the Falcon Batchelor Bird of Prey Center to A.D. Barnes Park to help manage a collection of reptiles in conjunction with the Miami-Dade Venom One Unit to be used for education.  In 2009 he made the move to Crandon Park and was in charge of surveying the beach for nesting sea turtles as well as monitoring the endangered Great Lakes wintering population of piping plovers.

    This program takes place on land and sea.   • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Teknica Martial Arts) – 6 Weeks – $200.00 - CLOSED

    - Start Date – September 13th
    - End Date – October 20th
    - Wednesday – 3:45 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. / Friday – 3:15 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

    Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the only proven style of Martial Arts where a smaller person can immobilize and defeat a stronger, larger attacker. Teknica’s Youth Martial Arts program instills in our students the strong base and foundation suited for all skill levels. Whether new to Martial Arts or if they are already competing regularly at a high level, we provide a unique, in-depth, level based system. The program will be led by Joshua Garcia, Renny Gonzalez and David L. Perez.

    There will be an equipment charge of $125.00 for the purchase of the students Kimono. This is a one-time fee.

    -        Monday Class Time: 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
    -        Tuesday – Friday Class Times: 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.: 2 Hours Road Time (1 Hour Observation/1 Hour Drive Time)

    Metro Driving School will be providing Palmer Trinity School’s students with the opportunity to take a Driver’s Education course this school year. The course will run for approximately 6 – 8 weeks depending on how many students enroll. Each student will receive a total of 30 hours of class room time and 12 hours of actual road time (6 hours observational/6 hours drive time). Classroom time will take place for all students on Monday. Students will then be placed in teams of two and will have a specific day assigned to them for the driving portion of the class (Tuesday - Friday).Registrant's learner's permit is required for the class.
