In-Class Poetry Reading to Celebrate "Poe-tober"

Mrs Harrrison's English 10 students read original Gothic-themed poetry they wrote as an assignment after studying Edgar Allan Poe's works.

The American writer, best known for his poetry and short fiction, focused on the Gothic horror genre, with themes centered on mystery and the macabre. Most of his works are considered "dark romanticism."

The classroom was set up with cafe lights to provide a coffee house atmosphere, and instead of applause, each student received "snaps" after reciting their poetry.

Students sipped on hot chocolate as they listened to their classmates, both online and on-campus share their poetry.
