On Saturday, February 1st, Palmer Trinity School welcomed Mrs. Adele Myers, a faculty member at New World School of the Arts, a nationally-acclaimed choreographer, and Artist-in-Residence at the South Miami Dade Cultural Arts Center to host a FREE DanceWorks Master Class for PTS Dancers. This is the second in a series of dance workshops geared towards growing the PTS Dance Program by exposing dancers to an array of movement styles taught by locally-trained professional guest artists. This Dance Master Class featured contemporary dance technique by Ms. Amber Bryan. Her class infused modern dance technique with stylized contemporary movement and progressed from a simple grounded warm-up initiating movement from the center of the body to across-the-floor sequences emphasizing seamless transitions from one step to the next. The class culminated in an energetic contemporary dance combination, followed by an informal conversation between the professional guest artist and the young dancers about the benefits of dance in the real world, dance as a passion and career, and how dance has helped to shape Ms. Amber Bryan's life, both personally and professionally.
We would like to thank Mrs. Adele Myers and Ms. Amber Bryan for sharing their talent, time, and passion with our PTS dancers.
