Welcome to the Enrichment Experience at Palmer Trinity 2018-2019

Palmer Trinity invites boys and girls in the greater Miami community to experience arts, academics, enrichment, and sports. 
As a participant, you will have a great time making new friends while discovering something new in one of our exciting programs taught by some of the best educators in the Miami area. We have a course or class just for you!

  • ASAP BASKETBALL CONDITIONING CLINIC

    Cost - $150.00
    Location: Gymnasium
    Dates - Sundays 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
    (April 7th, 14th, and 28th, May 5th)
    4th grade - 12th grade

    This Basketball Clinic trainings are tailored to help players reach their full performance ability and potential through Play-Maker Enhancement Drills which focus on Fundamentals, ball handling, shooting mechanics, defensive principles, and conditioning. Coach Andre Smith scored more than 1,100 points during his career at Miami Palmetto Senior High. He starred as a pro basketball player for over 10 years and was inducted into the UNC-Asheville Hall of Fame. He finished his career as UNC-Ashville’s 6th all-time leading scorer and 2nd all-time in steals and also led them to their first NCAA Tournament appearance. He played professionally in the NBA’s D-League, Lithuania (NKL All-Star), Mexico, Argentina (Liga-A import All-Star), Iranian Super League, and captained the Jamaican National Team from 2006-2011.

    Dates - Monday-Friday 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

  • BASEBALL CONDITIONING CLINIC

    Cost - $200.00 ($300.00 for both)
    Location: 
    Baseball Field
    Dates - Wednesday-Friday 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
    Session 1 Dates - December 26th, 27th, and 28th
    Session 2 Dates - January 2nd, 3rd, and 4th

    This 3-6 day Winter Baseball Conditioning Clinic will be run by Palmer Trinity School’s own Coach Jack Weinberger. The 2 sessions will provide players with the opportunity to learn new skills and grow as a baseball player in all three phases of the game: hitting, pitching, and fielding. This fun-filled educational conditioning clinic is designed for players who are both just learning the game, to players preparing for college baseball, and will help all players reach their full performance ability and potential.

  • BOOT CAMP

    Cost - $200
    Location: Fitness Center
    Dates - Thursdays 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
    (January 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st, February 7th, 14th, and 28th, March 7th and 21st, April 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th, May 2nd and 9th)

    Join us in the PTS Fitness Center for Boot Camp designed for all fitness levels. Palmer Trinity’s very own Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, Coach Perri, will take you through an energetic, dynamic and functional circuit training session that involves a combination of body weight exercises, resistance training, interval cardio moves, and cutting-edge strength and conditioning techniques. Coach Perri’s certifications include:
    • IFPA Performance Trainer and Sports Nutritionist
    • USAW Sports Performance Coach (Level 1)
    • NCSF Strength and Conditioning and Sports Training
    • Certified by the American Heart Association for CPR/AED/First Aid/Oxygen/Infant Safety

  • CHESS

    Join Dr. Harvin for our chess program this Fall. Enjoy playing and learning about the beautiful game of chess. The game of chess incorporates and encourages inquiry, strategic planning, pattern recognition, rule-based thinking, problem-solving, visualization, creativity, and competition.  Each session will include learning and playing through tactics, strategy, and winning combinations. The final sessions will culminate in a tournament with first, second, and third place trophies awarded.
     
  • FINGERBOARD FRIDAYS

    Cost - $50.00

    Fingerboarding is a fun sport that allows people to play together wherever they are. Join Coach Weinberger on Friday mornings as he hosts this fun and exciting 30-minute session where students will get a chance to practice skills, learn new tricks, play and compete.
     
     
  • GYMNASTICS - ACRO AND TUMBLING

    Cost - $225.00
    Location: 
    Dance Studio
    Dates - Mondays 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    (March 18th, April 8th, 15th, and 29th, May 6th, 13th, and 20th)
    6th grade - 12th grade
     
    This class will be geared towards the development of skills and conditioning for Cheerleaders and Dancers. Skills will include Handstands, Round-offs, Back-Handsprings, Flips of all types, Back-bends, Aerials, Chin Stands and progressions to solid and graceful tumbling passes, as well as more challenging elements Endurance, flexibility, and strength are required as this will be demanding for the body.


     
  • HOMEWORK CAFE

    Cost - Free
    Location: Room 118
    Dates - Mondays - Thursdays  3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

    "Supporting a blend of study skills, tutoring, and daily homework."
    The Auxiliary Department proudly announces our newest Enrichment Program, After School Tutoring. Students are welcome to learn, review content, strengthen academic skills, receive assistance with homework, develop study skills and organization techniques to help improve their academic performance. Students are welcome to join the After School Tutoring program as needed. If students are facing challenges in specific areas, or simply need help with homework, they can come prepared with questions and materials to work on and the instructors are happy to assist. Students of all grades can attend as many times a week as they wish. There is no registration required and it is free of charge.
     
  • PTS FACULTY AND STAFF - YOGA FOR THE MIND, BODY, AND SOUL

    In this Yoga practice, we will focus on the breath, engage in guided meditation, and work to relieve tension through yoga poses that target specific chakras. Anyone can join this practice as previous Yoga experience is not required. Join us and have a relaxing time with friends.   • SOCCER CLINIC

    Cost - $225
    Location - Soccer Field

    4th grade - 12th grade

    Come out and kick it with us to developing, polishing or simply just having fun with the game of soccer. Palmer Trinity's Head Soccer Coach, Eric Perri, will be implementing proper warm-up drills, team activities and fun soccer games. This 8-week clinic consists of Group Stretch & Calisthenics Movements, Field Training (Solo Drills/Team Drills), and Creative Game and Competition! This is a great way for your child to build confidence and learn teamwork while improving their soccer skills.

  • SOFTBALL CONDITIONING CLINIC

    Cost - $275
    Location - Softball Field
    Dates - Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:45 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.
    November 27, 2018 - January 22, 2019
    4th grade - 12th grade
    (Clinics will be held on November 27th and 29th, December 4th, 6th, and 11th, January 8th, 10th, 15th, 17th, and 22nd)
     
    The Palmer Trinity’s Softball Clinic will be led by our Head Softball Coach Jennifer Cerda and it is intended for players of all skill levels. Throwing, catching, defense, hitting, bunting and base running will be covered during the 10 clinics. Pitching and catching can be worked upon request. Players will have the chance to practice and improve, but will also be provided fun opportunities to compete in skills competitions and scrimmage games.

  • TABLE-TOP RPG GAMING AND DESIGN

    Cost - $300
    Location - Room X201 (New Building)
    Dates - Tuesdays 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
    January 15th, 22nd, and 29th, February 5th, 12th, and 26th, March 5th, 12th, and 19th, April 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd
    6th grade - 12th grade
     
    This course aims to teach creative writing, collaborative storytelling, teamwork, and other interrelated skills through the vehicle of table-top role-playing games. Students will learn how to understand, navigate and implement simulation systems that model alternate realities of the types encountered in popular fantasy fiction. They will create their own unique characters by writing character biographies and generating game stats. They will also work collaboratively to define a broader story, by linking their individual character histories to those generated by other students and by taking their characters through a series of quests that unfold as a consequence of their group actions. Students will also be encouraged to design the aesthetics of the game universe, by creating visual representations of their characters in a variety of media. Game-play will exercise teamwork and problem-solving skills as essential to success.
     
  • VOLLEYBALL CONDITIONING CLINIC

    Come together for this fun upbeat program and leave your stress and worries at the door. Come sweat with us to unclutter your mind, clear classroom fatigue, and create new energy for life. Yoga workouts focus on core strength, tribal movements, Pilates, cardio, and plyometrics. Classes will be fun and engaging to find a connection through movement, strength and healthier lifestyle choices while increasing flexibility, improving athletic ability and adding endurance.

  • Payment

    Payment in full is due at the time of registration and prior to the student participating in the Fall Enrichment Experience course. Payment can be made conveniently online by debit and credit card.
  • Cancellations and Refunds

    A refund will be granted for cancellations made via email 14 days prior to the first day of the Fall Enrichment Experience course ONLY. Tuition payments will be refunded on a prorated basis only if an Enrichment course is canceled by the Fall Enrichment Experience at Palmer Trinity and an alternate offering is not available.
     
  • Communication

    Upon completion of your registration, you will receive a confirmation email summarizing your registration selections. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Kristine Rodriguez at krrodriguez@palmertrinity.org.
  • Safety

    A secure environment is the top priority of the Fall Enrichment Experience at Palmer Trinity School. Any visitor on campus, including parents, must present a valid ID at the Security Guard Gate in the form of a Florida Driver's License. Palmer Trinity's excellent security team will be present at all times monitoring the campus throughout the day. Kindly adhere to the following Restrictions and Responsibility guidelines. Restrictions - Do not allow your child to bring toys, squirt guns, trading cards, or weapons of any kind or electronic devices (unless required for a course). No illegal drugs or alcohol are permitted on the premises. Responsibility - Label everything! We will provide a lost and found and any items not retrieved will be donated to charity at the end of the course. Palmer Trinity School is not responsible for any lost items. Parents and students are responsible for communicating any concerns or pick up/drop off changes in advance. Students will not be allowed to deter from their daily schedule unless a written request is presented in advance.
  • Medical

    Palmer Trinity staff, as well as certified instructors, are certified in CPR/First Aid. The school is equipped with AED units. If your child is bringing medication to camp that must be taken during the day, please adhere to the following guidelines:
    • Place your child's medication in a Ziploc bag with their first and last name clearly marked with a permanent marker.

    • Palmer Trinity will observe medical administration, but WILL NOT directly administer medication, with the exception of participants who bring their own EpiPen and are suffering from anaphylaxis.

    • Water is provided throughout the campus during all course hours. Please bring a refillable water bottle.

    • If you believe your child's medical condition requires additional consideration, please do not hesitate to contact Kristine Rodriguez, Director of Auxiliary Programs at krrodriguez@palmertrinity.org.
