 | Statement of Philosophy Palmer Trinity School is committed to develop, foster, and nurture spiritual and moral growth on both personal and community levels. The values and practices of the Judeo-Christian tradition are celebrated in a spirit of inclusiveness that teaches respect for all of the various religious traditions of the world.
Worship One of the primary ways to grow as a faith community is through corporate and individual acts of worship. These expressions of faith do not exclude any members of the community. It is the pattern of regular worship that differentiates an Episcopal school from other non-religiously affiliated independent schools. Worship at Palmer Trinity will reflect the diversity and practice of the Episcopal tradition and will be expressed in numerous ways.
Convocation Palmer Trinity School administration, faculty and students gather weekly for an All-School meeting. Attendance is required, but participation is voluntary. These gatherings include some or all of the following: an opening invocation, pledge of allegiance, various hymns and other religious songs and music, various readings and lessons, reflective talks and sermons, intercessions and prayers, commendations and awards and announcements, and a closing benediction. Convocations are coordinated by the School Chaplain, but also involve students, faculty and guest speakers.
Eucharist The Eucharist is the most sacred of all acts of worship within the Christian tradition. It represents the sacramental family meal of the people of God and is a celebration of love and sacrifice. School-wide celebrations of the Eucharist are held seasonally.
Special Programs At various times during the school year the unique feasts and holidays of the Judeo-Christian tradition are recalled, remembered, and celebrated. No attempt will be made to proselytize. Students will be invited to participate in these unique and historic expressions of faith and worship, which may be of a more formal and liturgical nature.

The Chaplain is responsible for coordinating the spiritual life
of the school community. Recognizing and respecting the diversity of
the Palmer Trinity School community, the Chaplain will provide a safe
and spiritually enriching environment for all students and faculty.
