Learning About Oceanography In The Arctic
Educator, Expedition Leader, and Director of Digital Explorer Jamie Buchanan-Dunlap visited Dr. Nagel’s 6th-grade Science classes to discuss his research program in Oceanography. Jamie talked to students about the challenges he faced working in a remote Ice Base off the coast of Ellef Ringnes Island in Nunavat, Canada. Students even got the chance to see what it was like dressing for the elements in the frigid Arctic.

Homecoming Week Festivities
Students enjoyed representing their Houses as the first fun activity for Homecoming Week 2014. The House Cup includes the Pirates, Titans, and Falcons, which represent the rich history of Palmer, Trinity, and Palmer Trinity School. During lunch, students participated in a Jenga competition to win points for their Houses, and the day ended with a Girls Football Game (Juniors vs. Seniors). To see a calendar of events for this week, visit our Homecoming Page.

Working Together and Having Fun
9th-Grade students got a special surprise Monday morning when they were called out of class to participate in a grade-level team-building activity. PTS parent and FIU Team Ropes Adventure Challenge (TRAC) Ropes Course Manager Greg Affleck and TRAC Lead Facilitator Clay Goldstein put together a variety of fun and challenging activities on Brockway Field. After breaking into groups, students had to work together to figure out the best way to complete each challenge. The activity gave the 9th-Grade class the chance to work together and get to know each other. To see photos, visit our Media Gallery.
