Miami Heat Announcer Visits Breakthrough Miami Scholars
Michael Baiamonte, the official announcer of the Miami Heat and Palmer Trinity's Chairman of the Board of Trustees, stopped by the Breakthrough Miami's Palmer Trinity site to visit the Scholars and share his personal story of how he obtained his dream career. Energizing and stimulating the crowd with his well-known lines, such as "Two minutes... Dos minutos!" was not the only thing Mr. Baiamonte offered in his presentation; he also provided the Scholars with a positive message for their futures, motiviating each of them to figure out their passion and follow it, regardless of its magnitude.

PTS Students Attend The Hugh O'Bryan Leadership Conference
PTS students Tiago Rachelson '17 and Allie Esco '17 represented PTS as ambassadors at the Hugh O'Bryan Leadership Conference in Boca Raton, Florida. They both had a great time and came back with great ideas to implement next year. Their names will be added to the plaque outside the Student Activities office that lists all the PTS students who have been ambassadors at the Conference in past years.
 


Flatiron Summer Academy Launches at PTS
 
The campus is buzzing this week with the start of the Flatiron Pre-College Summer Academy at Palmer Trinity School. Students enrolled in Flatiron will learn how to use the same tools as professional computer developers. The curriculum is based on The Flatiron School’s rigorous Web Development Immersive, which is known for helping graduates launch careers as developers at companies such as The New York Times, MakerBot, Etsy, Kickstarter and J.Crew.


Dinner With President Barack Obama
Recently graduated PTS Senior Waleed Mneimneh had the privilege of joining President Barack Obama for dinner this week. The President enjoyed speaking to Waleed about the Silver Knight Award and his service involvement with the University of Miami-Nova Southeastern Center for Autism and Related Disabilities.


Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservation Service Trip
 
 
Palmer Trinity School students are currently spending a week in South Dakota to volunteer with the Lakota India Nation. In partnership with Simply Smiles, an NGO that builds prefabricated homes on the largest reservation of Lakota Indians (part of the Sioux Indian Tribe), Our students are working with First Nation people assisting with housing work in the mornings, running a summer camp for the kids in the afternoons, and the participating in community events in the evenings.
