Everglades Literacy Program at PTS
Biology teachers Dr. Mealey and Dr. Hammerschlag raised awareness about America’s most important wetland ecosystem: the Everglades.

Collaborating with the Everglades Foundation, Dr. Mealey and Dr. Hammerschlag exposed their students to a first-of-its-kind comprehensive Everglades education curriculum, which is part of the Everglades Literacy Program. The lesson plan developed by the Everglades Foundation led students to explore key aspects of the Everglades, the issues surrounding this vast ecosystem, and ways to take action to help preserve it.
