During Spring Break, a team of PTS students participated at Congrès, the State French competition. This hard-working group of young men and ladies spent 4 days of their spring break involved in academic endeavors. They all won 1st or 2nd place ribbons (11 superiors and 4 excellents) and participated many events, including poetry recital, extemporaneous speech, reading comprehension, album (artistic and literary yearbook), and an excerpt of a Molière play: Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme.

These students also worked shifts of up to 4 hours in order to assist Mrs. Goodwin in running the Casse-tête event, which is similar to the game jeopardy in French. The team had excellent evaluations from the school sponsors on this event, which was a big group effort. Mrs. Vale and Mrs. Goodwin spent many hours coming up with all the questions and the students did a fantastic job organizing and running this event, which is the most stressful and difficult of categories. Many of them also worked as Sergeant at Arms or attended the Business meeting.

The 2008 Publicity Secretary, Isabelle Verwaay, was reelected to the 2009 Congrès Board. Many compliments were given about her work on the board, as well as the work of our students.
